I'm going to get there on 9/7 around noon, I ordered a My Choice 10 Flex pack. Can I pick up all my tickets that day? How long would the line be? I want to schedule films that day but I don't know how long it would take to get my tickets.

  2. If you bought a My Choice 10 Flex Pack, then you really should pick your movies online on the website sometime between Aug 23 - 29, rather than waiting until you arrive in September, because that will give you a better chance at getting the films you want.

For the flex pack, you should get an e-mail on Aug 20 letting you know when you can log in to the website to pick screenings. On Aug 21 the film schedule and list will be released, which you can use to plan what films you want to see and when. Then when your time comes, you'll be able to log into the website and pick your screenings. You'll know at that point exactly which films you have.

When you arrive in September, you can go pick up your tickets. I don't think it should take that long for just a pickup.

Okay thanks, I know that I should pick the films during August. I was just worried about picking up my tickets. Someone said that it took them 5 hours just to pick up tickets and you can only pick up the tickets the day of the screening. I just want to pick them all up when I get there rather than go each day for whatever screening to pick them up.

  4. Can I pick a Midnight Madness film with the flex pack?

  5. You can pick any regular screening (i.e. anything not marked as a 'premium' screening) with a flex pack, including Midnight Madness films.

  6. With the flex packs, you pick up your tickets all at once, not on the days of your screenings. Usually you would do that on September 4 this year, but you can do it whenever you arrive.

When you go to the box office, look for a volunteer (usually wearing a TIFF t-shirt or a headset) and ask where you can pick up your tickets, in case there's a shorter line for pickups.

Usually, the biggest lines come on the 4th when people exchange tickets (but they usually separate out pickups from exchanges) or when individual tickets first go on sale (Sept 2), both of which will occur long before you arrive.

  7. Thanks so much for all your help. I've never been to Tiff or Canada for that matter.

  8. Hey, I'm waiting for tifftalk to explain this new ticketing process. I'm confused. Is there no more box numbers?

I ask here, because tifftalk is generally clearer and more helpful than TIFF itself :)

  9. Paul,

You can look at the page here: http://tifftalk.blogspot.ca/p/advance-ordering.html for the information that's been revealed to date. Today (Aug 20) notifications started going out for randomized start times for anyone who bought a My Choice package.
