Hey I was wondering what the dress-code is like for regular and premium screenings? Casual for regular screenings and smart-casual for premium?

  2. You can pretty much go casual to everything; it's nothing like, say Cannes. For instance, even at Roy Thomson Hall, I had a premium ticket and had to sit in the balcony, so could've been naked and no one would have noticed.

Richard, have you come across any commentary on the online fulfilment system, from Platinum/Gold/Silver/Bronze members who have already had a chance to use it? I didn't see anything on Twitter.

  4. No, unfortunately I haven't heard anything about how the process is going so far. I was looking on Twitter as well and didn't see anything either. Most I've done is tried to log on to check my password and login were correct, and at least the site was up to allow for that. I'm guessing that the 25th might be the first real test as I think that's the first day for Contributor-level members to pick, which would probably be the largest member group. I'll try to post as soon as I hear anything.

How difficult is it to by a single ticket to a Premiere Screening on the 2nd?

  6. Depends on the film and if you mean a "Premium" screening. If it's a popular selection, say Looper this year, it will be difficult if you can't purchase right away. Others will be easier to get. I had one premimum screening, and it sold out online within the first hour of tickets going on sale. Other premium and non-premium screenings still had tickets available well into the festival.

Best bet is to go online as soon as single tickets go on sale. In the past it's been hit and miss logging in, but this year might be better since it looks like they've upgraded their systems. You can also try lining up at the festival box office, but unless your at the head of the line, I'm not sure it's worth the wait.

We are lucky to be attending Song for Marion on Sat at RTH and also the afterparty. What can we expect at the afterparty? Have never attended any TIFF events. Very excited.

  8. Never been to the closing gala or the party afterwards, so couldn't tell you what to expect, but hope you have fun!
