Due
to popular request, I've created a page for comments for ticket trades and
sales. Only post here if you are willing to trade tickets, or sell for the
value you paid for the ticket. Do not post here if you are simply looking for
tickets or are trying to sell above face value; I will delete such comments to
keep the number of comments under control and to prevent scalping. To try to
minimize issues, this blog now no longer accepts anonymous comments; you must
sign into Google to post.
For
people selling, the most a premium ticket should be is $46 (that includes tax
and $1/ticket service charge), and the most a regular ticket should be is $24.50 (that
includes tax and $1/ticket service charge). If you find anyone selling for more, post a
comment and I will try to delete the offending post when I have time.
Double check any ticket before accepting it; I would not accept an under-25 or senior ticket unless you obviously fit that demographic, otherwise you risk not being admitted.
Use
the information here at your own risk; I do not know anyone who may be posting
here. If you do trade or buy, make sure whatever you receive looks and feels
like your own ticket. Do not accept vouchers, e-mail confirmations, or anything
else other than an actual ticket, otherwise you're probably getting scammed. If you have any issues, there is nothing I nor the festival can do for you; you're on your own.
Note
if you do post here, you should delete your comment once you have gotten rid of
your ticket, so that you don't continue to get inquiries.
Some
people have already posted trades to the off-sale page (you may have to go to
the newest comments to see it).

ReplyDeleteSuggestion:
ReplyDeleteBesides trading. I have an idea on what you can do!
Can we sell tickets here that we aren't going to use, and not for outrageous scalper prices?
I don't want to break your rules yet so I won't specify which movie I have, but I have two tickets for an off-sale regular screening that i'm not going to be able to use. I don't want to charge outrageous prices. I literally just want to get rid of it, and get my exact money back for it since I'm not going. So someone who really wants to see it can go instead.
If you end up allowing this sort of things to happen here. I think you should set price limits for what people can ask for?
For Premium tickets - the maximum someone should ask to buy off of someone is $45 just like you would buy from the TIFF box office as a single ticket.
And the maximum for regular screening tickets would be $28.25, just like TIFF's box office.
Just the base prices, like those should be the set limit, in my opinion. Then anything posted here over what TIFF charges, should be deleted? Because I agree with people who are on Craigslist are crazy, charging $600 for two tickets for a premium film.
Some of us just want to just get rid of some Off-sale movies we aren't able to go to, and don't want to give into Craigslist. Then there are others who were unable to get into the box office in time, and unable to get any of the single tickets they wanted.
Just an idea/suggestion. ;)
Also, once people do their trade/sales/wants, etc. We can simply just delete our comment ourselves? you wouldn't need to delete anything for us. It lets us do that if you're not Anonymous (which you disabled). So once we got everything we needed, boom... we delete the comment for good so no more people would contact us.
ReplyDelete@MetalMeatwad: ok, we'll give this a try. I'll allow trades and sales for face value (+ tax and $1/ticket service charge), so go ahead and post you tix. Thanks!

ReplyDeleteI must be stupid. I can't figure out how to delete my post about TIFF tickets. Anyone?
ReplyDeleteBlogger seems a bit weird on deleting comments, so I've removed all the remaining for sale/trade posts.
