Well, you've got to give the festival credit; after getting flack last year for having a non-Canadian film as the opener, they've done a complete 180 in the other direction. The opener for 2010 will be Score: A Hockey Musical, from director Michael McGowan (who has been at the festival previously with Saint Ralph and One Week), starring Canadian singer-songwriter Marc Jordan and Olivia Newton-John as the parents of a teenage hockey player who finds fame on the rink.
The film includes cameos from George Stroumboulopoulos, Evan Solomon, Nelly Furtado, Hawksley Workman, Walter Gretzky, and Theo Fleury.
