Looking forward to the TIFF 2010. Just wondering if I will be allowed to bring my camera to the theatres. I am planning to take pictures around Toronto and go catch some movies in between sight seeing. Can I bring my DLSR camera in if I keep it in the bag while inside the theatres? I imagine there will be lots of tourist visiting who normally bring their camera with them but also there's legitimate concern about people pirating and illegally recording these new movies.

Yes, you can bring your camera to the theatre. People usually take pictures before the screening if the director or cast appear, and afterwards if they do a Q&A. Just make sure to put everything away before the movie starts.

Once the screening beings, some movies (usually the bigger Hollywood-type productions) may have people scanning the audience during the movie, and I have been in one screening where they actually had people with night-vision goggles.

My experiences at the Toronto International Film Festival. Note this blog is not affiliated with the Toronto International Film Festival Group or the festival itself.
