Additional Films

Managed to get tickets to some additional films this morning when general ticket sales opened. I think I lucked out, as the main festival web site appeared to be very bogged down. Even now, the main site is fine but the online order page is timing out.

The additional films I got are:

Beowulf and Grendel
Festival
Runaway
Sketches of Frank Gehry
A travers la foret

plus the special Mavericks program with Nick Park, creator of Wallace and Gromit. Reviews and notes to follow during the festival.

On a side note, a friend was down at the box office the other day and was chatting to a retired gentleman who's been attending the festival for the last 25 years or so (apparently he's doing some 50-odd films this year). Apparently this man was the one who gave the festival the idea of dropping off your film picks; previously, you had to stand in a *very* long line while the staff processed the picks of the people in front of you, one-by-one, which meant you could spend the better part of a day in line. So hats off to the gentleman, who's name I'm afraid I don't know, from all the festival-goers since who have benefited from your idea.
