My friend received a confirmation for box 49 at 11:05 PM on Saturday, August 30, 2008. We got most of our picks, but the ones we didn't get are not what we would've expected.
We got what I would've thought would be popular films:
- JCVD (the midnight madness showing)
- Nick and Norah's Infinite Playlist
- New York, I Love You
- The Wrestler
- The Brothers Bloom
We didn't get the following, so assuming no errors, these would be sold out by at least box 49 if not earlier:
- The Biggest Chinese Restaurant in the World
- Food Inc.
- 24 City
- Synecdoche, New York
- Kabuli Kid
- Country Wedding

Midnight Madness has had the tradition of RARELY selling out. While us filmophiles would love a chance to see Self Deprecating Jean Claude at midnight screening, most Torontotonians want to see Brad Pitt or attend a fancy hollywood screening.
I think Underworld was the only midnight madness I can recall selling out DURING the package processing time period.
Damn it, why did I have to be in box 65? I can't believe that 24 City sold out! Which screening was it? I chose the thursday one, and hopefuly there will still be tickets available for that.
Hey, don't complain OK, I'm box.... 5.... And I'm from out of town, which mean I can't do anything with my vouchers ! I just spent a huge amount of money for tickets that I won't be able to use, since I'm only in Toronto 3 days. So nice !

The 24 City screening we didn't get was the one on Tuesday, Sept 9 at 3:15 PM.
I was in Box 61 and received 25 of my first picks (out of 30).
Hi Richard, which screenings for those films were sold out? I'm compiling a list of unavailable screenings over in the forums of tiffreviews.com ... hopefully that'll help for people who are trying to make adjustments tomorrow.

Synecdoche, New York was sold out for me too (box 49) but also Gigantic which really surprised me.
